What are Essential Oils?

Essential oil is best kept secret of nature. They are also referred to essence.These oils are basically extracts of various plant material such as flower, root, leaves. Some oil are used to promote physical healing while others are used for emotional value which enhances relaxation or make a room smell pleasant. Each contains its own mix of active ingredients. Essential oils have been shown to clam and relax emotions as well enhance focus, attention and memory.

Essential oil can be used effectively through our sense of smell. They can be in form of diffusers, candles and intense sticks. The other way they are usually administered is through massage, baths, compresses or inhalation. When used in massage and bathing essential oils are absorbed through the skin into blood stream. When inhaled the fine molecules of these oils pass through the skin directly into your blood stream.


Base Oil or Carrier Oil

Essential oil are best mixed with a carrier oil or base oil. Any vegetable oil can be used as a carrier oil or base oil to dilute the essential oil. Carrier oil are base oil with vegetable origin which have excellent penetrating properties. Coconut oil and sesame oil are easily available. Almond oil, olive oil, sunflower oil can also be used a base oil. These oil do not have a strong smell of their own. They should be kept refrigerated until used and discarded if they smell bad.

Basil
In India it is popularly  know as tulsi. It stimulates the sympathetic nervous and over all the male sexual response. The strong herb aroma suggests its value as emotionally strengthening oil. It  is also a mental stimulant which helps in clearing head. It sharpens your concentration, intellect and your sense. It is a antiseptic and relives pain, cures insomnia, stimulates digestive tract. Also regulates menstrual cycle, excellent for cold and cough. Eases vertigo and epilepsy. 



Bergamot
This oil is uplifting, refreshing and relaxing. It encourages cheerful emotions and is ideal for lifting depression. The delicate sweet aroma can also be used to freshen and uplift a room and enliven your sex life. It is an antiseptic ,restores appetite, used in perfume, combats fever and heal wounds, ulcers and scars.


Cinnamon 
Cinnamon is another spicy aroma. It induces a sense of warmth and well being. Never use it directly on skin. Use it only in food where you can smell the aroma. It stimulates the sense and sensually  calms the nerves. It has a very refreshing aroma. It is a very strong antiseptic.


Cardamom
This oil enchances the desire for intimacy. This warm sweet spice is called the grains of paradise and is stimulating and energizing. For a night love, make use of cardamom with carrier oil for massage. Chewing cardamom pods can be good mouth freshener. It  helps in digestion, eases indigestion and heart burns.

Geranium
Geranium essential oil has sweet, floral fragrance that calms and relaxes the body and the mind. This oil has special affinity for the women although it influences levels of sex related hormones in both women and men. On mental level it is balancing, harmonizing. Dissolves blood clots, makes blood more fluid, improves circulation, improves pale complexions. Heals wounds and burns and is mosquito repellent.


 Jasmine
The sexiest flower fragrance, described as the kind of  flower oils and the scent of angels. Jasmine is renowned as an aphrodisiac and used in love potions. The aroma is seductive, sweet, floral, and lingering. Jasmine is powerful and  its aroma brings out the ultimate women. It tones the skin, prevent scarring, increases elasticity and eases anxiety, depression and lack of confidence.



Juniper
Juniper is the strong male oil which can heighten sexual stimulus and potency. Use it every night in the bedroom to increase arousal and restore masculine energy. The man can use a detoxifying juniper bath before bed and sleep will be the last thing on his mind. Eases painful joints, controls diabetes and excellent for massaging weak muscles.
Lavender
Having clear, light flowery aroma lavender is not an aphrodisiac but extensively used for its calming, soothing and balancing properties. Lavender cleanses both physically and spiritually. It is relaxing when used sparingly. Regulates the nervous system, eases aches, pain. Highly antiseptic, regulates blood pressure. Heals burns, insect bites, and acne.


Rose
Rose had been used for thousand of years as a symbol of love, desire, beauty, feminity and divine. A sensual, delightful oil, romantic, creative oil. Rose is considered to be the “queen of flowers”. It is a traditional symbol of love. Eases depression and mental fatigue. Tones up the entries system, rejuvenates tired muscles and cures acne. 


Rosemary
With clean, herbal aroma, rosemary is associated since ancient times with love and remembrance. It is stimulating and penetrating oil. in Rome it was regarded as a symbol of  regeneration. It increases creativity by lifting exhaustion. General tonic, useful in treatment of obesity and controls hair loss, dandruff. Improves blood circulation, relives sprain and swollen ankles.


Sage
This wonderful relaxant is a good friend to women’s sexual response when she is feeling inhibited due to tension or stress. The oil eases feeling the of depression and can be used when you are feeling run down emotionally and physically. It inspires optimism and happiness.
